What’s the winter really like?
Plan on five to six months of winter and significant snow—typically 200+ inches annually in most parts of the Keweenaw. Our roads get plowed early and often; life goes on, and locals embrace it. If you’re considering the UP, we recommend visiting in January or February to experience it firsthand before committing.
